We paint it all.
Wall, ceilings, floors, and doors and everything in between. We focus on:
– commercial
– institutional
– municipal
– strata
– warehouses
Check out some of our recent completed projects –
This was a typical warehouse clean up. The existing paints were faded badly and there was a lot of signage to cut around. We cleaned out and patched the cracks, primed all the rust and then applied new coatings to the windows, doors, rails, bollards, flashings, and walls. The building was transformed.
This was a full interior painting of a dark and dirty 100,000 sq ft warehouse. We used a phosphoric acid to etch the galvanized ceiling. We painted the ceiling white, walls, and posts white and accented lower steel with safety yellow. The space went from difficult to lease, to highly desirable in a few weeks.
This building was in desperate need of a good coating. It had extensive cracking and alkali bleeding. We went with a 3 coat process:
1. Full bonding/alkali resistant primer.
2. High build intermediate coat to bridge the cracks.
3. Satin latex to keep the building cleaner longer.
The building looked as good as new when we were done and was ready to lease.
This large strata had a combination of heritage buildings and new building. Access was a challenge on many elevations. Through some creative temporary moving of shrubbery we were able to save the strata 40k in scaffolding costs. This job also involved extensive rotten wood repairs, membrane deck repairs and lead abatement.
We were contracted to restore an Olympic sized public swimming pool. The existing coating was failing in sheets. We did extensive grinding and concrete repairs. During the coating we kept a detailed log of measurements to ensure that the pool was getting the proper coating thickness. Then we laid out and applied new swim lane lines. When we were done the pool was as good as new.
This was a fun job. The grandstand had a new track in front of it that the municipality didn’t want damaged. In order to use a man lift we built a custom elevated track that allowed us full ceiling access without driving on the track. We painted the ceiling panels and re-finished all the natural wood beams.
Over a 3 year period we refreshed a large aeronautics facility. This included hallways , offices, labs, training rooms, classrooms, recreation rooms, cafeteria and a library. Part of the work included the supply and install of custom stainless steel corner guards in the high traffic areas. We also supplied and installed Acrovyn wall protection in areas that received regular damage.
A post-secondary building had fallen into disrepair. The existing coatings were failing badly and to complicate things the old paint contained lead. This was in an active teaching area that operated year-round. The result was a great looking building that would be able to handle the bumps and scrapes from a high use yard.
This was an incredible technical project. We worked with engineers, inspectors, safety consultants, environmental consultants, and a board of owner representatives. The stack turned out incredible. We custom mixed over 30 different colours and then spray faded them into each other. An eye sore was turned into a work of art.
The low bidder on this project was booted because they couldn’t meet the contract requirements of having qualified painters. The school board asked us to step in and get this school completed on a very tight timeline. We completed the entrances and high student traffic areas before school started and then worked quietly in September to finish the project.
On this job we work with a construction company to complete the painting of a mall that another painting had walked away from. The main challenge of the job was coating the roofs. The mall was open and busy; spraying wasn’t an option. We hand applied a coat of 2 component epoxy primer and then 2 finish coats of moisture cured urethane. These products stuck like crazy and looked amazing.
We have a partnership to refresh an acute health care facility. We work with the facility to paint the labs, wards, hallways, staircases, parkade, washrooms, treatment rooms, patient rooms, ICU, NICU, Emergency … and everywhere in between. Getting our work done while not impacting staff or patients is our number one challenge.
A hospital asked us to help with a job with some unique challenges; the last paint job on the metal cladding was delaminating and required stripping, and the handrail had lead paint and required abatement. We had the cladding vapour blasted and applied bonding primer, abated the handrail and applied epoxy primer, and then coated it all with light industrial semi-gloss enamel. The result was a well adhered clean finish.
This long-term care center in the lower mainland was in need a freshening up. The concrete stucco was aged and stained. After a thorough washing, we put clear sealer on the bare concrete and coated the concrete stucco. The stucco received a full coat of bonding primer and a coat of satin latex. All products were low VOC so the building occupants were not disturbed.
